Tips to keep your skin Fresh & Glowing

Love the skin you are in!

Now who doesn’t want a smooth, blemish free body that makes them feel great? While we spend hours on our face and hair, we tend to neglect our bodies in the process, especially during winters. Besides regularly visiting the salons for waxing there is not much that most women do for their bodies. Here are some simple tips to a super body, Read on!

Body scrub- Use a homemade scrub of sugar, salt and honey. The granules of the salt and sugar help to take away all the dead cells and eruptions of the skin. If you are allergic to honey, substitute with Almond oil to which lemon juice is added.

Use sandalwood and jasmine essential oils, one drop each of these oils in the scrub. Do not add any water. Apply the scrub onto the whole body, from feet to neck. Let this way for 3-8 minutes. Then massage in circular motion gently to take away the dead cells. This will aid blood circulation in the body. Do this twice a week.

On the other days of the week when you are not using a scrub, add 1 tablespoon of salt and a few drops of lavender to your bath water. It is very cleansing and wards off negativity too.

Self-massage- Take a bowl of yoghurt, add 1 tablespoon of almond oil to it, also add 2 drops of sandalwood and 1 drop of rose oil. Massage the body and leave on for 15 minutes. Yoghurt is an excellent toner for the skin and also takes away the tan. This would also soothe the skin which can be a little irritated due to the scrub. Rose is excellent for effective toning of skin while sandalwood softens the skin.

Aromatic bath- Oil added to the bath helps to soften and nourish dry, damaged or stressed skin. The warmth of the bath helps the oil to be absorbed into the skin and provides an excellent moisturizing effect. Add oil to bath water prior to immersion, some good choices are coconut, olive, sesame or jojoba oil. Essential oils of ylang ylang, geranium, Neroli and orange or any essential oil can be used.

In addition to all these at home tips, keep your diet balanced as it mineralizes your system, exercise daily, go for a morning walk when the air is fresh, this does wonders to your body and skin, belly dancing is another form of exercise that I personally enjoy a lot.
